Tigers takedown their first match (or 2) of the season.
Tuesday 10/14 marked our first match of the year with an opportunity to go through the process of match day with weigh ins, warm ups, and matches with a referee against our teammates. For many of the wrestlers this was their first (and second) match ever, and every single Tiger wrestled hard. Whether their match ended in a pin, went the full 6 minutes, or they came away with a win or loss everyone had the opportunity to learn a lot and work on their skills in a high energy environment. Every wrestler was able to step off the mat with something to work on and improve for next time, which makes for a successful day. The stands were filled with family and supporters cheering them on, and for many this was their first experience as a spectator at a wrestling match. With 20 individual matches run yesterday afternoon, the post-match pizza and cookies were well earned, and the coaching staff is proud of everyone's efforts as we gear up for more two more matches next week at FRA and Harding!
